Consultation Responses

We aim to represent and promote the Academy's values and aims at every opportunity.  Policy makers, regulators and researchers regularly seek the Academy's views and advice on matters to do with medical, dental and veterinary education and we respond to national consultations and news where there are issues that may potentially affect the quality of education and training.  However, we do not comment on issues that fall outside our remit as a professional organisation and charitable organisation set up with the explicit aim of supporting the advancement of medical, dental and veterinary education to enhance patient care for the benefit of the public.

All responses to public and national consultations are supported by our Council and made on behalf of our members.  Requests to the Academy to participate in surveys and consultations should be addressed to the President via the Academy of Medical Educators’ Administration Office in the first instance.

In January 2018 the Academy responded to the GMC consultation: Updating our expectations of newly qualified doctors in the UK: reviewing the Outcomes for graduatesSee the response here
