Events and activities
Throughout the year the Academy hosts a range of exciting events including:
- The Annual Academic Meeting - a two-day meeting covering important topical issues with opportunities for members to present their own work and to join discussion forums focusing on new horizons, strategic and visionary issues and areas of special interest.
- Masterclasses - one-day meetings concentrating on specific issues in educational development, presented by contributors of international standing and including short papers and contributions by participants.
- Recognising Teaching Excellence Workshops - half-day events aimed at medical educators working at all levels in universities and clinical practice who are interested in joining the Academy.
- The President's Evening - an annual evening reception when the President and Council of the Academy meet members and other influential members of the medical education community.
For 2011 the Academy is initiating a series of four Masterclasses centred around the 6 values of our Professional Standards, in addition to the continuation of the rolling programme of Recognising Teaching Excellence Workshops in London, Newcastle, Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Plymouth.
